Review of Bergan Purple Martin House

The instructions are easy to follow, but it should give you enough warning not to assemble this product when it tells you to stick the first birdhouse floor on a pole and then try to snap all the pieces together while trying to wrestle with a pole.

Second, only a few walls really snap together.The rest are tabs that are too short tab wise and do not "click" with the second floor because there are no flanges or barbs.The tabs were flush with the floor, and not sticking out above as I should think one would be.The interior walls are too long lengthwise in that when one has to align the left side of the tabs under the second floor's holes, the tabs on the right side, because of their shortness tab wise, and the longness of the walls, pop out of the holes that one has somehow wedged them into.Same thing happened when I tried aligning the right side.Even the attempts of bending the tabs inward to meet the holes to compensate for the long walls ended in failure.

I had a frustrating five minutes trying to put all the tabs of the walls in, found it impossible, so I just tried to assemble the roof with the same outcome.Only one tab ever held when I tried taking the roof back off, so in the high winds that we are having today, that roof would have blown completely off in about thirty seconds.I would be surprised if it lasted longer than two minutes.So the end product was full of unstable walls that would not "snap" to the floors because of short, flat tabs with no flanges, and a flapping roof.

I found to my dismay, and a little to my relief, that there was only three walls that had the three holes in them, and not four.I was dismayed because I was wanting to count how long it would take before the bird house would collapse from the 15 mph wind blowing today, and relieved that I have yet another excuse to take the bird house back to the Tractor Supply Co.(tm) where I bought it from.Upon closer inspection of the box, it appears that someone else had tried putting it together, got disgruntled, and returned it to the store like I'm going to now.Now I know why those guys at TSC didn't have a display of it up.

I love this teapot!!! The picture doesn't do it justice. Great detail in the etching and paint. The mouse on top is adorable!! Not only is it cute, but it's functional too.
I enjoy having tea and coffee, but found that most teapots hold only 6 - 8oz of water. This teapot holds approximately 16oz. I like this size more for nights that I would like to have more than one cup or I am having friends over. It's also nice in the winter to make my kids hot chocolate. I can carry the teapot and mugs around the house easier than if I was only using the mugs.
A must-have for any Garfield fan or someone who collects teapots!

My cat Matisse got the Lemon catnip ball from this company for christmas last year. A friend of mine swore by it. Sure, Matisse is a catnip fan but he will usually play for a few minutes then lose interest. My husband and I were amazed when the Cat played with it for over an hour! Apparently the scent did not wear off because days, even weeks later he would walk up to the toy and 'find' it all over again. We have gotten several other products from this company (Banana & Cigar) and Matisse is still just as crazy for it. They last several months before he loses interest in them. I am sorry for the impact from this review, however, those who read them before making purchases need to know the truth.

This is an extremely cheap, thin and tiny piece of plastic that is garbage. DON'T BUY ONE!!! I through it into the trash on the same day of purchase. What a piece of junk!

Further, a 12-weeks old kitten felt cramped using this tiny...thing. Then, when it was time to clean the box's "contents", I tried to pick up the box to move it to a better position only to have it bend in half and dump onto the floor.

I like the ease with the way the stroller opens and closes, but the snaps that hold the screen to the bottom of the stroller do not snap easy. It is very difficult to snap it closed because they are spaced too far apart. I clip the leash, that is attached to the stroller, to the cat but she is able to get her head in between the snaps then she is hanging over the edge of the stroller. I am concerned she could strangle herself. I can't use it without the leash on her because she could get loose and run. I would like to see this area improved upon. I have two cats and was thinking of getting another stroller, since my husband and I like to take walks together, but now I won't until this problem is resolved.

Review of Medium 20" Cat Cuddler Pet Bed - Red

I bought this bed for my five cats. I thought that the medium versus the small would be best for my cats who vary between 8 and 12 pounds. It's bigger than I thought! But that is ok because the cats seem to like it anyway. I have two cats that love to lie together and this bed is perfect for them. The bed is made of foam with a removable, washable cover. The fact that the cover is washable is a big plus for me. I've found other cat beds that I like, but I cannot wash them. I've rated this product four stars because my pets like it and I like the product. I've also uploaded some pictures to help give a better perspective on the bed's size and features. I'll update the review after I wash the cover.

1/29/09: Washing the cover was easy (cold wash, low heat dry). It seemed to fit the bed better after washing. The color did not run. I used some liquid fabric softner and it made the fleece feel fantastic.

I have 3 of these beds in various sizes, one for each of our dogs. The best part about them is that they can be easily washed and dried at home, even the 36" size. And, of course it is nice that my dogs love them too. The beds are not very thick, but dogs can be found to lie on a bare floors and so this has to be better. I have bought thick padded beds in the past and my dogs did not use them as much as these. These seem just enough for my dogs, and they can be easily topped with a folded blanket if you have a dog that likes more padding. Almost forgot, the dogs love to rest their heads on the tubular rim of the beds.

Although the neighbors must think I am absolutely INSANE for strollering my cats, the cats absolutely LOVE it! I only give it a 4 out of 5 stars because I don't like the colors. Other than that it is a great way for my 2 indoor cats to get outside. Very easy to put together. Does not easily store, so you will need a storage spot for it as is (it does not fold up once you put it together---you have to take it all apart again). I think they make this stroller in pink now as well.

The tree is TALL!I'm 6'2" and its a good five inches or so taller than me.The Cats LOVE IT.Took them about a week to get used to it and now they are always on it.It is the kitty zone in that corner.The little string balls that come with it get destroyed in about 5 minutes, but the rope toy is solid.Also, the bottom scratching post did not come with the proper screws and the attaching wooden blocks were not drilled properly so I had to drill a couple holes in them to get it on there.Otherwise, the tree looks great, its fairly stable, and the cats enjoy it.Overall:A good purchase.

Review of Four Paws Pet Products Ski Slope Cardboard Scratching Post With Catnip

We have suffered through torn and shredded curtains and chairs till we tried this "ski slope."The catnip is loved by our cat but he has continued to faithfully use the ski slopes long after the catnip ran out. The trick is we bought two slopes and put one on each end of the couch. The result is all our furniture remains free of cat claw damage. I've been implementing these for 5 years and have just returned to buy my third set. They last a long time. The only drawback is having to vacuum up the cardboard crumbles that eventually spill over onto the carpet... but it's well worth it to save our nice furniture. I've only seen our cat play with the toy mouse twice, but again who cares so long as the thing works, which it does!

Review of Armarkat Cat Tree Furniture B7801

We just purchased this Armakat 78" cat tree to better accommodate the recent addition of a second cat, a young male who loves to climb.It does offer two high perches for both cats and lots of sisal for climbing and scratching, but the faux fleece covering material is too thin and overall the structure is wobbly.Also, the two perches have only three side walls that are not deep enough for the cats to curl up into; they're too exposed.

Although at 50 pounds, this tall tree house rocks with our hyper kitty as he tears up and down it, I don't think he'll be able to topple it.

Our original cat tree by a different manufacturer, is a 72" single-perch with covered house that is incredibly sturdy and quite luxurious with its plush carpet that covers the entire structure.Although smaller and more of a single-cat tree, it cost more than this larger Armakat, but the quality far exceeds the Armakat.

I recommend spending more for quality and comfort; something seriously sturdy that offers a combination of carpeted, four-sided perches and covered houses, and sisal legs.

I have a very small cat with short legs and she barely fits in this bed. With it's tall sides, she has trouble getting into it. I now use it as a toy 'box'. It IS well made, very warm and washable, but I wish it was a bit wider.

This product is well made and the finish is nice. However, it's smaller than I expected (although accurate to the measurements). The bottom plug (which you often see as some sort of plastic stopper) is glued-on felt. This would make it difficult to frequently open to take out change. It's very light as well.

Installation:My husband installed it very quickly and they include a weather strip.It's not too heavy and there are only a few pieces to put on it before it goes in the window.

We have 2 cats and one of our cats loves the veranda and sits in there all the time:yelling at the birds, watching the dogs play in the backyard and relaxing.Our other cat, for some reason, doesn't ever go in there.Maybe she doesn't want to go through the flap, although, she uses the cat door.It's a bit of a mystery.

I would recommend it to anyone who kept their cat indoors but wanted to give them some fresh air and place to call their own.

Review of Kittywalk Sport Stroller, Blue

I bought the stroller for our new Siberian kitten. He loves to play in the stroller when it is inside and is really fascinated when we take him outside in the stroller. He is not afraid of it and enjoys being outdoors. This allows us to give him that freedom and keep him safe at the same time. The only thing I think could be improved upon in the construction of the stroller is the way the carrier is fastened to the stroller portion. It is held on with two bungee cords below and tends to slip a little when you have to tip it to get up on curbs over big bumps, etc. However, that is minor and I just make sure that I pick it up rather than tip it.
