I bought this to do what it is designed for, keep litter in front of the box and not all over my floor. I have one cat and even though I vacume the thing once a week it still lets a few litter granuals past. For the most part I am happy with it though, it was a great deal.

We wanted to get a new tree for our cats quickly after we moved to a new place. Our cats prefer to scratch on sisal and most of the trees in the brick & mortar shops we checked had either wood or carpeted posts. This tree has all sisal posts in two different lengths. Review of Midwest Select Triple-Door Home Training and Travel Series Dog Crate

I got the large size crate (recommended for Golden Retrievers and Chows) for my 85 pound German Shepherd. This crate is roomy to put it nicely. There is enough room in the crate for both of my dogs (the 85 lb shepherd and another 70 pound shepherd) side by side. The crate is almost as big as my large kitchen table! As long as you aren't short on space, this is great but if you have a small apartment this crate is really going to limit your space. It seemed to have thick gauge wires when I saw it at the store but after taking on a road trip where it had to be folded and it got kneeled on while packing it up, the wires are bent. It still functions when open, but the clips that are designed to hold it shut when folded are mangled beyond repair. In it's defense though, the big dog inside paws it when she wants out and she hasn't damaged it. The three doors make it more versatile but each door only opens one direction so you still have to be thoughtful about where you are placing it, especially with it's size. It is very easy to remove the doors and put them back on. It's very roomy and luxurious, but very large and heavy and could definately have thicker gauge wires to make it more durable.

I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT IN THE HOPES THAT THE LITTER THAT USUALLY FLIES ALL AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE LITTER BOX WOULD BE SOMEWHAT CONTAINED WITH THIS MAT THAT IS SUPPOSEDLY MADE JUST FOR THAT PURPOSE. I HAD PREVIOUSLY USED A PAPER SHOPPING BAG WHICH ACTUALLY WORKED BETTER THAN THIS PRODUCT DOES, AND IS MUCH EASIER TO HANDLE. BOTTOM LINE - I AM STILL FINDING LITTER ALL AROUND THE BOX - THIS MAT DOES NOT REALLY STOP THAT HAPPENING. IT IS WELL MADE, HOWEVER, AND AT ONLY $4 WITH FREE SHIPPING WAS NOT A BAD INVESTMENT.

Review of Kitty Shelf Model KS-1

I never thought I would find a cat perch that would work with the sliding windows in my mobile home, but to my surprise, this one installed in under 5 minutes without velcro tape or screws. This shelf is sturdy, even when my silly Burmese hangs off the edge of it. She loves this shelf. I live in San Diego, and right now the night time temperature is about 70. I leave the window open (yes, you can close the window without removing the perch when it rains or gets too cool) and when she gets too warm sleeping on my bed she just hops on the perch and catches the breeze. One thing I should mention - she is full grown and weighs 7 1/2 pounds. She litterally "boings" off the bookcase and up onto the perch, and it doesn't move. I only mention this because I can't say that if your cat weighs 20 lbs it will be as sturdy for your furball as it is for mine. Also, the sash in mobile home windows is slimmer than most regular windows so the brackets had to be hammered down between the sill and the sash, making it super sturdy. If your space between the sill and sash is a little too wide, try putting a wooden paint stirrer under the seat so it sits on the sill and adjust the bracket underneath accordingly. I did that on another window and it was fine. I will probably order another one very shortly for the master bedroom window, and another for a Christmas gift for a neighbor with a furball. These are wonderful, and the cover comes off for cleaning which is an added bonus. Well worth the price, I've seen the covers for these selling for $10, without the perch. Great bargain and no screw holes in the window sill!

Review of Pet Supply Imports - Kitty Connector Tee

I originally purchased two of the PETCO Blue & White Kitty Crinkle Tunnels for my cats and wanted to be able to create a more elaborate tunnel structure for them so I decided to buy two of these connector tees and four matching tunnels, see (Pet Supply Imports - Kitty Play Tunnel), instead.

They absolutely love this because they can enter the tee from three angles and explore different rooms of the house depending on where you locate the connector(s).

The connector tee is collapsible, lined, sturdy, has a larger circumferene to accommodate fat cats, and ties together nicely with other connector tees or additional tunnels to make elaborate structures for my cats.My four cats take turns sleeping and playing in the two connector tees and four tunnels I bought them.

This tee(s) with the associated tunnel(s) is the absolute best in my opinion and I certainly feel it was worth the extra money.In total I purchased two connector tees and fourtunnels; however, you can tie as many of the tees or tunnels to each other as you want in various configurations to give your cats a fun-filled time.

Review of 78" Cat Furniture Tree Condo

First, a couple of notes regarding the accuracy of this product's listing. It boasts "assembles in minutes" and "Titan Strength, Stability and Construction." The latter claim isn't exactly inaccurate... I don't worry that my cats will knock this thing over. That said, "titan" is overstating the case. The last piece of cat furniture we owned was sturdier and more stable than this one. As for the former claim, well...

The huge piece of cat furniture arrives in a surprisingly small box, thanks to the fact that it's disassembled into as many component pieces as one could possibly manage, pretty much. The "step by step assembly instructions" consist of a single sheet diagram of the multitude of parts and screws, numbered but with no written instructions whatsoever. Parts of it seem ambiguous and difficult to interpret, and there are no numbers on the pieces, so you spend a while trying to match everything up exactly. It took more than an hour and a half to assemble the thing, despite the fact that we've assembled what should have been far more complicated pieces of furniture with far less trouble. Parts of it ended up being disassembled and then reassembled multiple times because it was so easy to misinterpret the "directions." All of this could have been avoided by including an accurate photo of the finished product and a sheet of step-by-step written instructions, in which case I expect this wouldn't have taken all that long to assemble--maybe 20 minutes?

Also, the dangling rope toy included is about half the length of the one in the photo. However, they did include a fuzzy mouse on an elastic string hanging from the second-highest perch that also isn't in the photo, and this is our cats' favorite part of the whole contraption.

Our cats love the height of this thing so much that so far they've largely ignored the lowest two levels. Unfortunately the only real way through the front door of the "house" on the third level is via a small step that isn't well-placed, so they're a little reluctant to use it. However, while many cats would be too large to use the diamond cutout in the side of the house as a door, luckily ours aren't. If you have generously proportioned cats then I wouldn't recommend buying this model.

Ultimately, if I had this to do over again I'd buy a piece from a different company or pick it up from a store pre-assembled or assembled in several major pieces. The company could do so much to raise customer satisfaction simply by producing a good set of instructions, which really wouldn't take much time and effort given how much it would improve things, so I have no idea why they don't do it. As our friend who helped out commented, "If I'd bought this I would have it packed back up in the box and waiting to be shipped back by now." However, I can marginally recommend the piece just because once it's assembled it really does entertain the cats--particularly if your cats love heights!

I am very pleased with my purchase of this crate. It is very durable, and my dog loves it. This is a great crate for travel or to keep in your bedroom. It does not have some thing to place in the bottom, so I recommend a mat or the cut-apart bedding for the bottom of crates.

Note: This crate is not for aggressive dogs. Aggressive chewers or scratchers would do do well with a material type crate.

I bought this mat because my male cats have a tendency to sometimes wet over the side of the box.Now, I have no more worries because if they accidentally go over the side, this mat catches the urine and does not go through to my carpet below.This mat washes easily in the wash machine when soiled.The only draw back I have is that if you throw this mat in the dryer, the mat will pill.Overall, this mat has been a life saver for my carpeting and I actually purchased more to have extras.

Review of Petmate Litter Catcher Mat Large, Ice Blue

This mat seems to catch most, if not all, of the litter! I am really happy w it, and it is soft under the feet as well which is nice. I first bought the small one, especially because I had thought that this one was way too expensive, but it didn't do much as it didn't cover enough space and the cats bypassed most of it when exiting the litterbox. I exchanged it for this larger-sized one and it has REALLY made a difference. This mat, as it is supposed to do, seems to "trap" most of the litter within the fibres as the cats walk over it. I initially bought this brand as per the recommendation of the nice gent at Petsmart... I am glad I listened to him!

Along w this, I HIGHLY recommend the Omega Paw self-cleaning litter box.... it is absolutely WONDERFUL!!

This product is great to use for traveling, as it is much lighter than the wire crates. However, have the dog used to it before using for a regular crate. Also probably not great for Puppies because there are seams that can be chewed. Review of Kittywalk KWPS700SUV Original Pet Stroller SUV

This was a Christmas gift from a very, very good friend.I am sooo loving this, but not as much as my 'babies' do. My 2 hairless (yeah, no hair) cats are both rescues, and as such I feel I must push more people to adopt a pet, rather than 'buy' one. When I took my kids to various events they used to have a basket they traveled in, which , at the time, they were pleased with. But being in the basket, they were not able to get away from prying hands or just get out of their own limelight. With the stroller's back area covered, they can get privacy when they want, or as my boy Samson does, lay stretched out, half in the covered and half in the open mesh area. It is nice not have to carry that basket or have them bothered by a leash tugging on them. They get to feel they have their own freedom to be seen, which I think is why my babies are so easy going when out and about in the public eye.

It is big enough to fit two nice blankets inside the carrier for them to snuggle on/under as wel as have booth kitties in at same time and even the dog too. I have used it nce whenI needed my bird to stay out of my hair, she seemed less annoyed being in the stroller then when in the carriers I have stuck her in. Maybe because she has more visibility, so it eases her already unbalanced mind! It would work for most any animal, so long as they are bigger than the mesh screens. The wheels are very sturdy, as far as I have noticed, and get around with ease. The folding wheel section, not sure how to describe that, is very minimal in its space when folded, fits very well in trunk, I have a PT Cruiser. The carrier is not so easy to break down, you can do that to store it in the trunk, but have to 'rebuild' everytime you go out. But the carrier does fit quite nicely in the PT. If youhave a sedan or something smaller, you will not have as easy a time keeping it in the vehicle. Their are few nice little compartments in back for leashes or whatever to be stored. I do wish they had a bar or something on the handle area to hang a purse, that is my only issue.

The stroller has been a quite a topic anywhere I am with it, this is a good thing. I have had many inquire about it, including a woman with 6, YEAH, 6 Ferrets. I would highly reccomend this itemto anyone wanting to hve their pet out and about with them. But do remember to get your baby used to the thing before your first adventure. I left ours open in the living area and the kitties sniffed itout and eventually both enjoyed just hanging out in it.

My cats loved playing with this toy.Then, after a long period of supervised play, I turned the unit off and stowed the string according to the instructions on the box.However, a short time later, my cat figured-out how to pull the string from behind the rear side of the elastic band to which it is attached.She had managed to swallow most of the string, which is about 16"-18" long.Luckily, I was home, noticed what was happening and intervened by pulling over 12" of swallowed string from the mouth of my cat!

Of course, I immediately removed the toy from the door knob, studied the unit more carefully to understand how this had happened, then finally repackaged it in the box, putting it where my cats couldn't get to it.

In my opinion, there is a design flaw in the unit.Simply shutting off the toy with the string behind the back side of the belt is not enough (obviously) to prevent a cat from finding the string and then swallowing it.If the design were modified to place a solid plastic wall between the front side and back side of the belt, attaching the plastic to the sides of the belt housing, then the string couldn't be pulled back out by a curious cat.

In an effort to help improve safety and potentially to save a cat's life, as well as to help the manufacturer of an otherwise nice toy, I later called the manufacturer to advise her of what had happened and to present my suggestion.

The call was answered by a machine stating no one was available to take my call.But as I was leaving the message, a woman picked up the phone (sounding like I had woken her up.The call was placed at 10am EST on a Tuesday).

I began to tell her why I had called.Instead of sounding concerned, being willing to listen, or even apologizing, I was interrupted and told to "just wrap the string around the door knob - no cat could unwrap it."I disagreed, as I've seen cats do things no one thought they could do.In fact one of my cats does so on a regular basis.

She insisted that there was no reason to redesign the product, when people could just wrap the string around the door knob.Next, she tried to assign blame to me, telling me that the cat was supposed to be supervised when playing with the toy.(Again, my cats were being supervised while the toy was on.It was only when I had shut the toy off and stowed it according to the instructions that my cat was able to get at the string anyway and swallow it.)

Next, the woman suggested that my IQ was not as high as hers, insisting there was no need to change the design and again saying she had quickly figured out (after a couple other people had called mirroring my concerns) that all you have to do is wrap the string around the door knob.

Finally, to top off this somewhat less than desirable "customer service" experience - throughout the conversation, the woman repeatedly (no less than 3 times) stated "you can't please all customers." She's right!

Because, she didn't even try.All I wanted was for her to listen to my concern (it wasn't even a complaint) and to allow me to make a suggestion to improve safety (which, she could have thanked me for and then done nothing with, if that's what she chose.)

So, the bottom line and my reason for this review...I feel responsible to warn potential customers (since my phone call led me to believe that the manufacturer won't).In my opinion, the instructions on the box are insufficient to protect your cat.If you have one of these toys or decide to purchase one, I highly recommend that you remove it from the door knob after each use and put it away, where your cat can not get to it.

However, given that recommendation and the level of supervision required while the cats are playing with the toy, you might just want to save the money and pick-up an old-fashioned string.

This is the third cat tree/condo combination I've bought and the only one that hasn't fallen apart within about a week. I've now had it about a year and it's still in great shape. I saw this in a magazine. I wanted a solution because my kitten used to play with water and make it messy. He used to splash water with his paw and the whole floor would be wet. So, I tried this pet fountain.My kitten and dogs love this. I also got the 50 oz attachment also.So now, they have fresh water all the time. My dogs are happy because they don't have carry their empty bowl out to me when they were thirsty. It gets noisy when it needs refilling. I have had it for about 2 weeks now.Maybe it is just a habit from cleaning pet water and food dishes, but I do clean it when I need to add fresh water. Now I only need to give the pets' fresh water every 1 1/2 to 2 days instead of twice or three times a day. Also, I don't have to worry about whether I have filled it up. When it needs refilling, I usually wash it and fill it and the 50oz attachment and it is good for almost 2 days.

Oh yes, the kitten doesn't make it messy now.

I bought the Babble Ball for my ferrets,but they couldn't hit it hard enough to make sounds.Even the cat couldn't make it talk.It took throwing the ball against the wall or on the floor to get any sound out of it at all.One of the dogs got ahold of it when I wasn't looking,and it took him about 2 seconds to chew it in half(he's a small dog).Not quite as indestructible as advertised.

Review of Armarkat Cat Tree Pet Furniture B7701

After purchasing two smaller Armarkat trees, and being pleased all around, it was time for a big one. And this IS. It makes a substantial footprint and it quite stable. At 70 pounds, and made of plywood, it can take some heavy duty cat-action. The fleece can be easily vacuumed and spot-cleaned with a damp sponge. Don't be intimidated by the big box it comes in, all models of Armarkat I've purchased (5) have been a snap to put together and this was no different. (Tools like an allen wrench/wrench are always included. So are a couple of little toys.)
The cats were playing on this as I was putting it together...the most difficult part of assembly.
